The Need to Belong

We experience it at one time or another, the moment when everyone is talking about something you don't know, when the world seemed to despise you and Fate suddenly decided to make fun of you by leaving you out.

You feel so useless, so unattractive, so untalented, so alone. You try to make sense of it, reasoning that you will one day rise above them and do what they have done to you, but, deep inside, you're slowly breaking, craving for the attention you so deserve. There is a feeling inside you that is slowly devouring your very soul and you give up trying to keep it in. You clutch at your chest, lean against the wall, and set free the numerous emotions that have been pounding against the bars of your restraints for so long. You let the tears flow and the emotions completely wash through your body, flowing in your very veins and prompting more tears to fall.

You think that the tears will fall forever, but you're proven wrong when the amount of tears begin to decrease slowly, the emotions inside you going back to their cages.

You're still inside you're dome of loneliness, a dark, dark place, but there is a ray of light from above and you smile at it, feeling better already. And the ray becomes bigger and almost completely engulfs your body.

Yes you are lonely, but there is hope. Hang on to that hope and you'll soon find Fate agreeing with you and the world submitting itself to you.
